HDIS V1.9 - February 2024

Data Integration

  1. Incorporated 2024 HMIS Data Standards - HUD Exchange, resulting in updates to race and gender data elements
  2. Added data from 7/1/23 - 9/30/23
  3. Reflected any changes in source data from 1/1/16-9/30/23
  4. Added additional automated processes to handle data quality outliers
  5. Re-matched and re-merged clients to incorporate the latest data

Calculations

  1. Utilizing a new method of reporting race and ethnicity data whereby persons are counted in every race and ethnicity category with which they identified.
  2. Introduced new gender category mappings and names.
  3. Introduced a new Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Population Experiencing Homelessness Who Accessed Services visualization displaying the overrepresentation and underrepresentation of racial and ethnic groups in HDIS compared to the California general population.
